It’s been a year since Confirmation of Payee (CoP) was introduced to the UK as an industry targeted response to rising APP Fraud. With the big six banks mandated first and then others encouraged to join, Bottomline has gathered an industry-wide panel to discuss the impact of this initiative and what may be best for your organisation. This is a timely session as the new “Phase 2” opened in July. This extended capability from Pay.UK moves the service from just a few hundred qualifying banks to a few thousand bank account holding organisations, many of who can now validate account details to cover their fraud risks before sending or receiving payments.
